What an eventful past few days! If you were at LAKE PLACID today, and saw a guy at the ramp strip down quickly to nothing but his underwear, and swim to the bridge to get his boat, THAT WOULD BE ME! I had a BIG BONEHEAD OOPSIE, despite having launched my boat a gazillion times over the last 20 years. I had to act quickly, and had NO CHOICE but to go swimming, as the swift current was taking my boat further and further. I know some Dude had his phone out, and probably shot a video, but whatever.....I thought it was pretty funny, and my focus was on regrouping, and catching fish. Anyway, I forgot all about my Michael Phelps move in the cool Guadalupe water, and got to my spot, and caught three quick fish. A good buddy called me, and I asked him to join me. I picked him up at the ramp, and we caught a few more fish in a short time. Then came a moment that created an everlasting fish story. I set the hook, and felt a massive, strong, aggressive pull. I'm thinking BIG FISH...BIG FISH, BIG FISH, SHARELUNKER, LAKE RECORD, etc, etc, but it was a damn catfish. FALSE ALARM. (Picture below). The weather has been strange, but TROPHY TIME is now. There are good fish to be caught, if you are willing to fish! I've had some good luck in the past few days. I do guide for my livelihood, and I am on the water almost daily. I can't promise a big fish every outing, but we do catch our share of them. I like to say I have more good days than bad days. I like having a good time, and love being in the great outdoors! I absolutely love fishing with people who share the same passion for the sport of fishing. I do a pretty good job of keeping my FACEBOOK PAGE current. Check out the action, and let's go catch some fish. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!!

All very nice fish. Don't taking chances like that Ryan. The water is getting cold and we don't want to read about you in the paper. Stay safe my friend. Thanks for sharing the story and report.

Donald, thanks for your concern. Luckily air temp was around 70 degrees today, and I knew the water was in the mid 60's. That's a little chilly, but I did not feel like I was risking my life. I have to say, it was "refreshing". I had a towel in my vehicle, and luckily my clothes were dry. I literally left them at the boat ramp. I've been to lake Austin in a freeze when the water was in the 40's.......I would have been screwed if that was the case today. I would NOT have jumped in.

Sorry I wasn't at the ramp a few minutes earlier, I would have given you a lift out to your rig, but it was definitely a funny story. And tff, you're welcome that I wasn't able to get a video of professional guide, and swim team captain Ryan.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.
