Does any one have any experience with the Okuma Guide Select A Series Swimbait rod (gs-c-7111xha), 7ft 11in extra heavy for throwing a Alabama rig on it , it says lures from 2-10oz.

Think you would be happier with the MD Hvy 3/4-3oz....know I am. I own four Okumas different actions.

Not to hijack but if you decide you wanna try out the okuma MH swimbait rod let me know. I've got one that is just setting around I wouldn't mind selling. It's dang near brand new.

I love the Okuma's for swim baits. I have several guide selects and I just picked up an EVX861 for 250's...for the money they can't be beat. I would say the MH is best for the A-rig as well.

Ya man, I throw my yellowhammer a-rig on my Okuma H. The xh is overkill for an A-Rig. Just depends on how much you want to spend. Dobyns, Irod, Lowdown Customs and Moam5150 are all sick rods.
