It was cold at the lake. The thermometer read 47 degrees, but it felt colder even with sweat pants under my overalls. The bite was surprising, considering that a deep cold front passed through yesterday. The bluegills and small channels bit slowly but pretty consistently. The rough fish bite was very slow. The bluegills were caught on bits of Canadian nightcrawlers under a slip bobber set at six feet. They were on the deep side of the channel drop off under the bridge. They were not under the dock. I did not try the rip rap.

Side Note. Were the fish suspended? They appeared to be suspended at 6 feet in about 10 feet of water. Hey, Chuck. It's time to be pulling the trout stuff from storage and packing a trout bag. First stocking next week!
