Hey everyone, Been living in TX for 4yrs now and only have been fishing Lake Texoma and Denison Dam for stripers. I can only fish from shore since I don't have a boat and my wife loves crappies but I don't know where and what tackle to use. Any help would be awesome or if you know any reasonable crappie guides. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the fishing barges? I don't know where you live but I hear Lewisville Fishing Barge can be good... As far as tackle get ready for 4.64 million answers (I have sifted through those threads I know!)... I can tell you that I use Bonehead Tackle jigs and juice them up with some Slab Slobber and that works for me. If you can get out with a good guide you will learn all you need to know and more. Good luck and welcome to your new addiction, ain't nothing like the "THUMP"!!!

Try minnows at crappie barges usually does well, some barges are too shallow for summer tho.

Thanks everyone for the great information. Looking forward to catching some slabs. Let me try minnows first and then work my way up to jigs.
