TPWD did a survey there recently and found some huge bass.

Inland Fisheries Dallas-Fort Worth District -Texas Parks and Wildlife
October 21 at 12:59pm
2015 Electrofishing: White Rock Lake. Total catch per unit effort was 185.3 Largemouth Bass per hour with 17.3 per hour above 14 inches. Mean relative weights (the red diamonds) are excellent - the fish are getting plenty to eat. We caught nearly 1000 shad per hour as well. White Rock is in great shape!

Congrats, nice big, fat bass.
WRL has healthy bass and tremendous shad, craw, crappie, and white bass populations. Other than the spring and fall, catching them is definitely a challenge. Most of the lake is silted in with very little deep cover/structure, so they suspend gorging on the plentiful shad most of the year. Hopefully, the water clarity will continue to improve.
