Do you think a single could be mounted on a 1/4" steel plate and held in place by a magnet inside the kayak? I have a PA12 and would put the battery in the front hatch and just run the wire under the cover. What do you think?

Pop751, I used an LED daytime running light for mine and mounted them to 3/4 PVC. This makes it very light weight, which would allow you to use a strip of stick on Velcro (or something similar) to hold it on the front of your yak.
