Only reason I do not have an Onix is that it is out of my price range. If you can afford it, get it, you will not regret it. I don't care if the Helix is coming out with the bigger screen, it will not do near what the Onix can do, i.e. Helix has no I pilot or 360 capabilities for expansion. I personally have the 999 and I really like it. Just my 2 The Helix, 9, 10, and 12 will do those functions. They are replacing the 800, 900, and 1100 series unit's. Do not know if they will have Auto Chart Live like the ONIX-no specs released yet. Your 999 is obsolete now and on close-out sale for $899 with a free remote control RC-1.

Ok, I have made my choice. I have thoroughly reviewed and answered all questions about the fishinders and I am going to buy a new 1199ci with 360 transom mount. The onix and the ion are beautiful machines no doubt. That Ion would really be sweet but since I am just a family fisherman 99 % of the time I'm just gonna stay with the 1199ci. I just gotta at least have that 360 for times. It will not make me put a lot more fish in the boat, but during certain situations I believe it could be a true " gamechanger ". So I have to have it. Lol! Glad this post popped up.

I got it on order already Smoky. $1,292.00 for the new 1199ci from Ebay and $1,231.00 for the Transom mount 360 from Digital Oasis. I am stoked man!!! Thanks for the info though I appreciate it. Thats the best deal I've ever seen on these units.

Good thing is the fish don't know the 999 and 1199 are obsolete. David at Shut-up-and-Fish has some great prices on the 1199 right now.
