Is there much pedal pressure difference between the 2015 Hobie Mirage Drive with bearings and the 2014 version without bearings? Does anyone notice the difference going from boat to boat or at the end of a long day?

I can tell it's a little smother...probably not something you would notice if you weren't looking for the difference. The big difference is the skeg, huge difference in rough water or windy days really help you hold a straight line making long treks more efficient!

I have owned every model of Pro angler put out and the current one is by far my favorite and a good part of that statement stems from the improvement in the mirage drive.

I bought a used 2014 Hobie Pro Angler 12 yesterday. It was too good of deal to pass up. The Mirage Drive was smooth and easy to operate by hand. I will be back to Mariner Sails to buy some more accessories. I need to take it out a few more times so I can prioritize my "needs."

Congrats...I've been giving some thought to buying a pedal yak too, and so far, the Outback is what I'm leanings towards.

I don't have experience with the new Mirage Drive, but I'm really happy with my 2014 PA 12. The Mariner Sails guys are great.
