I'm looking at either Costa Del Mar but it seems everywhere I read online people like Maui Jim better. Also I am seeing some sites say copper colored lenses or blue mirror lenses. Any and all experience welcomed for your opinions. Thanks

I have tried both. Personally, I like the Costa's just a little better for fit and the the lenses. I use the Costa Harpon model with the Blue Mirror glass 580 lenses. Whether fresh water or salt, I feel like I'm getting good protection and supposedly 100% UV blockage and 100% polarization. I have been wearing the same lenses since 2002, but the frame styles change from time to time.

A fishing buddy of mine's wife is an optometrist, we have asked her which ones are better because we have heard the same thing. She responded that Costa's are more optically correct for the human eye, have better polarization and UV blocking technologies when comparing the two lenses. For me I have 12/20 vision(better than 20/20)so I'm very sensitive to light and I have used both on the water many times. Costa's are the clear winner for on the water for me. Less eye fatigue, better glare reduction, and far better contrast and clarity. There's my 2 cents. Hope this helps!

Lens color will be dictated by the type of fishing you do. generally: silver mirror- super clear water, small streams etc. green mirror- all freshwater applications and bays and estuaries blue mirror- offshore, blue water, every day wear But everyone is different so get what works for you. There's plenty of info on lens color online and you could learn just about everything in less than an hour.

whatever color you decide get the 580G as the glass lenses are more scratch resistant than the plastic lenses.
