You guys are only seeing the negative side of the boat buyers.
what about the good guys & good deals ?
I bought my bought almost a year ago right here off the TFF from "thetractorguy" in Waco Texas. Skeeter 2000 model with a 150 Yamaha. I never test drove it, just pulled up, looked at it, looked at his house, talked to him and handed him x number $100 bills in an envelope. He didn't have the title, but said he would get it to me. Said if I got the boat home and didn't like the way it road, bring it back. I said if in a month I don't have a title I would come back to see him. We both laughed, I drug the boat home, he counted his money and I have been happy ever since, I know he is as well,,,,,,he sent me the title when it came in.

Crazy, just sold my 2000 Ranger in June and I had it up online and it sold in four hours. WOW! He brought over a cashier check for the full asking price and did not even care about taking it for a test ride. I told him that I would be happy to take him but did just wanted to boat and go. I have sold many boats in the past and this was the easiest one. You just never know.

I think anyone who has ever bought a used boat has walked away or made the purchase based on a gut feeling. We all want to feel good about whatever choice we make so I am not seeing this guy being an A-hole. He had concerns which I feel like were justified and maybe I am missing something but I have not read anywhere that he was told the boat needed work done on it. If he was and agreed to buy the boat if repairs were done then maybe a different story but A grand less than asking price seems like a very reasonable offer to me. Maybe he is an A-hole because you would like to sell it quick and he didnt buy it?

That's sales brother. Not to be a jerk, but you gotta get over it. Happens everyday to me in my line of work. Buyers are concerned about their agenda, not yours or your time. Move on, you'll eventually find a deal that you AND the buyer can be happy with.

It's an annoying process sometimes! Especially being a kid.
I sold my ranger, the fella drove from Durant, OK all the way to Midlothian at 10pm, looked at it for about 5 minutes, didn't even step foot in the boat, I offered to stat it up on the muffs but he didn't want me to do any thing but leave him alone to look. Made up his mind and said, "Ill take it off your hands, lets do the paperwork!". Handed me cash and took it home.
My last boat was a PITA to sell, It was a very nice big charger 20ft, no issues or anything, great Yamaha V-max... ect. I believe I did about 13 lake tests before the right guy came and low balled me an offer and I took him up on it just due to the fact that I was sick of giving free boat rides and letting other people push me around. But that low ball offer was good enough to get me back in the seat of another Ranger!

It's a nice rig for sure and great looking starter boat, but 20 years old is 20 years old... If you were offered 9000 for it.., take it!!!

So you had an offer for closer to asking than the $1000 you eventually got 'lowballed', didn't take it, and instead decided to spend money on the boat at the request of someone without an offer? hammer

Here's the deal, I have a boat for sale to and like this guy would never sale it without knowing it would mechanically last for the next guy. Boats are not like cars so buying new seats and carpet so the next guy can fish out of it for years to come would be appreciated in the price.

I have my bottom price already given so don't waste my time trying to get it cheaper.
