Well every day Keith and I go out fishing we alway have fun and laugh alot-usually at my screw-ups,fumbles,ect. This time I didnt drop a single rod in the lake and didnt even embed a hook in my thumb, what we diddo is SLAUGHTER the reds caught around 40 reds with Keith catching the biggest at 22lbs. This was my first real experience fighting reds and I am hooked!! The 7-8 lb reds fight as hard if not harder that any 10-15lb striper I have ever caught--we were catching them every 3-5 casts. Then is stopped all at once--and when I mean stop, it was like someone rang a bell ending lunch. Even though we had about 2-3 hour of excellent fishing! About 4 of our rattletraps will be retired after yesterday as they have NO paint left on them.

Jason, it was a blast as usuall and I always like watching you hook into some good fish. I never know whether to take you seriously or not!!! LOL... "Its a big one, its a big one, get the net!!!!" "OH, its foul hooked. " LOL.. Actually, most of the time you were right, we needed the net. Heck of a trip and the fishing was awesome. Also, I like how you asked if I was going to need the net when my drag was screaming for a good while. Did you think I had hooked into mighty mouse or something? I know, you were pulling my leg and I cant wait to get out and do it again. We will have a few more months of great fishing.
Also, for those of you that dont think that reds have TEETH!!!!(I say this because a while back there were a few guys that told me I was full of it)
I took a few more pics, here they are.

You guys heading to the show? I think I am hitting the Trinity in a few places and adding some fish to my multi-speices bag.

If you are not going to the show I will be heading to the area behind Ole South Pancake House that area holds good channel and flathead catfish and a slew of perch and carp maybe I can add 5 to the bag today.

Those reds would have worked fine for you guys but you need the fish page.

LOL XYZ.. I dont plan on fishing that fun little thing but if you need some holes(tanks)to add a bunch of the perch species and bass, let me know. I know a good one you can hit up and catch tons of fish. You could also add the mudcat to your list of fish and possibly crappie if you are lucky(I think that is all that is in the tank). The tank is close to benbrook and is LOADED. The water levels have been low, making the fish very easy to catch. If interested in trying a new hole close to the city, let me know. I think it would be fun to catch all those species of fish but I have too much on my table as it is.

Oh and I hate to bring this up again for those of you that think that fish somehow can't hear. We would be catching on every single cast until I tried to use the trolling motor to push us back up wind. The hull slap(especially on my Alumacraft) would shut them down. Just a couple of minutes after we start drifting we would catch again. Of course the outboards they use on Texoma for running up on schools or better yet trolling arent nearly as loud as my trolling motor. smile

Randy,

Guess the Guys aren't wanting folks to know their "Honey Hole", but if I was gong after Reds, I'd head to Fairfield. smile I have a friend who has been wearing them out. If artificials don't work, drop some shrimp on a Carolina Rig.

Only one ramp open and you need to be careful as you launch.I'm guessing the recent rains have raised the Lake a bit making it much easier to launch.

Good Luck and Good Fishing!

Launching there is still a PAIN! The rain raised it only a few inches. Saturday they were using the left side of the ramp(as you face the ramp) but there is a sand bar to the left of it. The right side seems a little better but you have to drop off the ramp on either side to launch. Good thing is, after 2 trips Ive only used maybe 1 1/2 gallons of gas
