Here is a video I took recently while fighting a fat Jack on light tackle from the Kayak near the mouth of the Colorado River in Matagorda. It has a sad ending, but it was a fun fight! I was expecting to be catching the smacks I had seen jumping and chasing bait fish, so I was a little surprised when this guy took me for a ride. I was so excited I forgot to turn the camera on until we slowed down on the runs and I could think clearly, lol. Hope you enjoy, I know I did!! FishyRichy vs. Jack Crevalle

NICE! That looked like a lot of fun. I've had some tackle tore up by those guys the last month, so I feel your pain.

I always enjoy an encounter with a jack. They never fail to give a great fight, way out of proportion to their size, and they're a hoot to watch when a school of them has bait cornered on the surface.
