I just installed my HDS 9 structure scan and unit and I am getting these lines on the screen on down scan and on left center of side scan. Any idea what these are or how I can get rid of them?

Just guessing..... But I'll bet the location of your LSS2 transducer is catching interference. Can you post some pics of your transome and where's its mounted?

I can tomorrow. I mounted it attached to jack plate on right side where I had my previous DI transducer on a hummingbird unit. It hangs below the jackplate. I'll get a pic tomorrow

Being that its just on the left side I think the jackplate is causing some disturbance or reflecting false returns.
Google lowrance jackplate interference I think people have been using holeshot plates to solve it.

that looks like a skeeter? I would have to see what is in the way causing the interference, but I'm guessing you getting some sort of turbulance from the engine or the signal is hitting something on sidescan. Downscan has me puzzled which is why Shooter mentions a Holeshot plate and a possible solution ( and he's probably right). I installed a TSS bracket on my skeeter to get it lower in the water to eliminate all the sponson interference, etc. Make sure the Line of site both left and RIGHT is NOT obstructed by any to the Skeeter's curved transom design. I have this highlighted in RED in my Picture below. In addition to the TSS bracket I order the extension as well to even get it lower. The extenion is NOT seen in the below picture, but It is in the top picture... hope this helps you!

Hmmm, kinda odd. Here's a pic of my lss2 on my Skeeter and I don't have interference. You might need to lower it.

Maybe it's just a matter of a 1/4"-1/2" that is causing the interference? I cannot see anything that is in the line of the side scan. It is a 2004 Skeeter ZX250. I had seen a couple mounted in the exact way on the jack plate with no interference. But what would give the lines on down scan? I saw a couple guys with Skeeters mount in on the step up against the bottom of the boat? Didn't really want to drill any holes in Fiberglas or fork out another $200 for the transom saver

From what I understand the beam from the transducer slopes up and away slightly to the side so the further away from a reflective surface it's mounted the more likely it will bounce a return off it even if the ducer looks to be below it. Might be worth making an extension out of aluminum bar or even a temporary one out of starboard or something just to test if lowering it will clear it up. Calling lowrance tech might get you some answers but I wouldn't hold my breath

Update!! Made a extension on the bracket and got it lower in the water, no lines. Guess I will have to invest in the transducer saver bracket with the extension. Thanks for the help
