So i got my little cruise and carry running great, but I'm a hp junkie so I'm wanting to know if i can exceed the max 3.5 hp rating the bass raider has without the game warden writing me up? I was thinking a suzuki 4hp. I can't find any videos with these boats with bigger motors. I plan to reinforce the transom as it flexes with the little 1.5hp. It only flexes when the boat is fully loaded with me, my dog, another person, and tackle. So reinforcement well be done. Thanks!

If the fish don't bite your not baiting right...

seems silly to me.. why risk a ticket for .5 HP?

You have to be careful with those plastic boats.. While they CAN handle the propulsion from a gas outboard, they are better suited for a trolling motor.

just my 2 cents!

I think your misread I'm asking if going over the rated hp will get me a ticket. I don't troll around i just find a nice place to setup, so a trolling motor won't do for me and it's nice not having to lug that Battery around. I'm thinking of ways to reinforce the transom so the torque placed on it won't be a problem.

Edit: I'm considering suzuki as it seems to be pretty well built. They don't make a 3.5.

Exceeding what the boat is rated for may results in a ticket.

But for .5.

I kind of doubt it.
