I keep hearing the rain is good. We need more. Keep it coming.
But when the flash floods and over flowing lakes a rain swollen rivers
are doing so much damage isn't it enough?
If the rain is so great send it where it is needed for a while.
Let the lakes go back to full instead of flooded.
Let the the overflowing rivers get back in their banks.
Let the earth dry out some.
Let it go back to normal for a while.
Maybe later in the summer when the temps are over 100 and the lakes are starting to recede a bit.
Give us a chance to rest and recover.

Enough IS enough. Went to a local fishing hole this morning and it's been way, way over the banks for three weeks. One of those ponds where the water goes in but there's no way out.

I have been preaching this for weeks, too much of a good thing is not a good thing, doing way more damage than good, and I know there are lakes that need more water, the rain we are getting here will not help those lakes.

It doesn't matter when we think enough is enough. We don't figure into the equation at all.
Plus out here where I'm at it's hasn't been nearly enough.

I've lived in Texas far too long to complain about getting rain during the summer.

For some reason we can't get it in west central. ALL of our lakes are still less than 50%. Some still over 40ft low. We are the only part of the state still listed in drought. I prayed that storm wouldn't run up 35 like it did, we needed it, east tx didn't. The range conditions are the best in years though so that's a plus.

When compared to the alternative, 100 plus everyday and low lakes, I think I'll take floods and 80.

Ever heard of bottom moisture?

Usually about 1-2 feet down and there is moisture.

Contractors digging holes for wind turbines North of Vernon never hit moisture and the holes were over 20 feet deep.

Let it keep raining.

Bottom moisture is something else. The higher the temperature in the summer, the more bottom moisture you have.

It has definitely been an inconvenience. The drought of 2011 was too.

I ain't gonna bich. Maybe Texas needs a good flushing !

When the aquifers are full, it is enough. I'm no expert so I don't even know if surface rain helps to recharge them, though. Still, growing up in the high desert of Idaho, living in Texas for half my life, a few years in Albuquerque, and a couple years in the Colorado desert has me programmed to NEVER complain about the rain.
