Went in just to walk down lunch, you know just looking.  PowerPro Slick 8 on sale, 150yd $7 off, bought 3 of those, and AllStar ASNANO 6'6" Worm, regular $90, on sale $44, got 2 of those. North Richland Hills store...I'm not a strong man.  You were 10 minutes away from APT. Be glad you stayed at Academy..... I live 4 blocks from APT,..don't remind me...

I have BP 5 mins from work and Academy 5 minutes from home. I'm cursed. I wish they were that close to Athens---- Academy Tyler-- 45 minutes BPS -- Garland 1hr 15 minutes so when I go there I think I am never going to make it back & I buy 3-4 of everything, even though I still have over 300 bags of plastics in my fish shed. it is an addiction...HEY....maybe I should start a "Bass Fishing Clinic" group, kinda like the Betty Ford Clinic. Think I could get some customers ? I would join but sadly I know I would back slide the first day. I'm sure there is a study somewhere that says that there is a cure for heroin but bass anglers are hopeless.

I love an honest quick trip to BPS as the next guy, and can't seem to just walk away empty handed. But try making you're own plastics and painting crank baits. That's a slippery slope. I've got so much tackle I don't know what to do with it.

I spend $45 dollars a week in Academy. Here's an email I send Academy back in 2013 while we were trying to get them to renew their contract. Texas Fishing Forum (TFF) and Texas Hunting Forum (THF) members and viewers are spending big money every month at Academy Sports + Outdoors stores across the state and throughout the southeastern United States.
Lets look at the TFF alone.
We had 229,546 visitors in the last 30 days. 74.81% of them were from Texas. We do have a fair number of people coming from every state where an Academy store is located, but lets focus on Texas for the moment. Of the 171,723 uniques from Texas, 16.85% visited one page (bounced), so lets discard them as people we dont have much influence over. Lets look at the 142,788 people we can possibly influence in a month people who visit multiple pages and visit the TFF multiple times a month. According to a recent poll, around 30% of our audience visits an Academy store 2 times a month. Another poll showed that our average audience member spends around $50 per visit to Academy. If 30% of our audience visits an Academy store twice a month and spends $50 per visit, then 42,836 people who are on the TFF are spending $100 a month or $4,283,600 a month at the 80+ Academy stores across Texas.
Even if these number are off, I think it presents a strong case that the Texas Fishing Forum and Texas Hunting Forum members/viewers combined are at least spending somewhere in the 1 to 2 million a month range at Academy.
