Been fishing Proctor for several weeks. Caught from 12 to a limit each time. With the spawn about over and the lake rising it is going to get tough. One good thing is the ramps might be open soon.

I have been catching them on jigs and minnows under a float in 2 to 4 feet of water on rocky points the past several weeks. The dam has been producing good numbers also but has been crowded thus I have shied away from that area. Lake level is at 1152.07 and on a slow rise as of 8:30 this morning. I would expect the Sowell Creek day use ramp to open this week and possibly Copperas Creek West ramp. Lake is still just shy of 10 feet below pool.
Correction: It is my understanding that Sowell Creek day use was opened yesterday. If so please exercise caution as there is a sever drop off and with the current lake levels a lot of hazards just below the surface.

Went to check out the lake yesterday afternoon. Sowell Creek Day use ramp is open as well as Copperas Creek West ramp. Park Ranger advises using caution if using either ramp as both have fairly sever drop offs. Lake level as of this morning is 1153.01 and slowly rising. With Leon currently over the spillway it will hopefully continue to rise for several days. Talked to sveral locals that were fishing yesterday and was told the crappie bite has gone south.
