Fished two tournaments this weekend, had two weigh ins on Saturday and Sunday. Water is really muddy up on the upper ends, but clearing further and further each day. Not sure what this rain is gonna do to it this week. Lots of spawners still in the main lake areas. Fishing was really tough. Saturday with the calm wind, we caught fish on main lake points throwing Alabama Rigs and Grande Bass Blue Fleck Rattlesnakes. The frog bite was better latter in the evening for some of our club, I couldn't buy a frog bite in the morning, so once we gave that up, we went main lake pointing, and ended up with 5 unders and one over which only went 6.98lbs caught off the main lake point at Alligator that faces Oak Ridge and was the worst looking fish I had ever seen. Bloody tail, broken jaw, a few sores and still hit a rattlesnake and put up a hell of a fight. And no we handled her with ever bit of care we possibly could, I imagine she had been used and abused,, cause she looked so bad. She died. Made me sick!!! Any how, we caught 6 slots as well, so wasn't too bad. Sunday was a different story. We caught 3 fish which 2 were slots and one was 2.18 lbs, and there were very few fish brought in and no overs. Winner caught all his keepers off of beds on the east side of Little Caney out near the point. We decided to leave at noon and made a big mistake and didn't weigh in - at the second weigh in and would have had big bass. Oh well! had a good time. Just wanted to get back and get to mowing the soggy 5 acres I had left. The party's at Hideaway Harbor, Scenic Point, and Lake Fork Marina kept us up way too late, the food was awesome, the weather was just simply awesome. How long has it been since you drove from LFM to the dam in shorts and didn't just freeze your tail off. Stopped off at Lake Fork Tackle or Anglers Pro and put in a order for some of my favorites for next month at Ray Bob and ended up picking up one of those new oversized aluminum trolling motor prop nuts - have any of y'all tried em?,,are they worth the money? Saw a ton of catfish take out of the lake and listened to KMOO's posting of the Yantis Catfish Classic, and got to meet some nice fly fisherman that had a tournament there as well. There is something so calming to the soul when fishing a C-rig and listening to KMOO - you just gotta experience it.

Thanks for the info. Great way to spend a weekend. Im fishing the Legends in two weeks with my 80 yr old father n law. Three hrs max a day and I have no idea where to fish ? I think I will follow your lead and stay with main lake points. Fishing rattlesnakes on shaky head or Carolina ?

2 were on C-rig, 5 were on Alabama Rig, the rest were on the small bass pro shops egg sinker. It's a small split shot that is shaped like a football, and I crimp it on ever so slightly about 6" up from the bait.
