ok so my lews is 2 years old (its the 200 dollar one), and it is making a "squall" sometimes when i cast and not going far, sometimes it goes great, sometimes TERRIBLE...
Anybody have this issue? anybody know a fix? was considering replacing bearings, I've never done that but hey rather spend 50 on bocca bearings then buy a new Lews. I think its just a one year warranty soooooo I'm out on that i figure...

Common problem on Lews, Pfluegers. Did you oil the pinion bearing? Also check for loose spool pins if dual brakes (Centrifugal Brakes and Magnetic Brakes)Also if Centrifugal you will have a squeal during the cast if there is corrosion or grease/Trash on Brake Drum. Usually the reel will free spool quietly until you actually cast it and you can have some friction squeal from the inside of the pinion gear, the ends of the spool shaft (As above mentioned on the shims) and from the magnetic and centrifugal brake system. Or the bearings could be bad also but if you oiled them that should not be the problem. You might try flushing them and only use ONE drop of oil in each.

those Pure Fishing/Doyo centrifugal breaks are SO sensitive to old lube/trash causing noise and decreasing casting performance.
It's really bad on the Gen 2 Revos too.
