We want to charge $4.83 for a pack of 7 3.25" craws, BUT for each pack we sell we want to give ONE pack away to a high school or college angler/team in the purchasing Anglers home state, and For every FOUR packs sold wholesale to a tackle shop we will donate ONE pack to a college or high school angler/team in the tackle shops state. The angler, or shop, would choose which school/team their one pack goes to. Thoughts?

If a highschool angler or college angler buys a pack make it like buy 2 get one free. No one ever buys one bag of plastics.

I think you'd do better to sell them $3 a pack then sponsor the high school college teams with a discount rate on each pack if they order through the team.
That way you would make more money per pack without being overpriced and have your baits name on a lot of jerseys out there for more exposure.

Hopefully, the donation part is separate from the purchase part.

For example, the donation won't come at the tackle shop at the point of sale. It would be - and I'm speculating here - for every four bags shipped to a tackle store, he donates one bag to a high school team. I doubt that smaller tackle shops or even tackle warehouse would be able to handle the handing out of free bags of plastic.

In order to work, I think he has to work it like Tom's shoes, where, for every pair purchased, Tom donates a pair to a kid in Africa.

Just offer a large discount (at cost or 10% above cost) to the HS and College fishing programs. Why waste your time keeping up with all the logistics of who and where the free bags of plastic go to? The sentiment is great but don't make it hard on yourself starting out. JMO

That's a great idea, but honestly your intro price may be a little high

Good Luck!

In my opinion, which means nothing, I think you should concentrate on making money first before giving things away for free. Philanthropy and helping younger people is great, but you can't and wont help anyone if your business tanks.

I do not think the majority of fishermen will pay extra to help HS or college anglers out. They will pay extra for an excellent product. If you think they will then just make a portal on your website and take donations to help support HS or College anglers.

Make money first, help second.
