Any of you guys trap crabs, shrimp or lobsters out of your yak? Maybe dropping them before you fish and pick them up afterward? I am sitting at Red Lobster trying to figure out a way to procure my own fresh seafood without paying $30/plate. Lol

Ive caught a bunch but not from the yak. Certain times of the yr all u need is a lrg landing net In the clear shallows around the grass. Id like to set a few traps offshore just to see what id pull up.

I have run crawfish traps from a pirogue. No problem, just work.
The collapsible traps they have at Cabela's work great if you don't want to make your own..
My son' room mate in college ran two or three big pots out of a kayak in Bellingham Washington. He mostly bartered with the local restaurants for regular meals.

Around the Rockport/Aransas Pass/Port Aransas area the crab population has been nonexistent for the past 6 to 7 years.
