Myself and Mike "USMC-GY" fished the Guadalupe River from 10am till 2pm and caught over fifty fish which included a nice variety of Rios,Bluegill,Redbreast,and Crappie. Rounding out the catch were a couple of nice Bass and a few nice Redear. Fish are all in pre spawn and were urinating after catch. Fish were caught next to docks in 7 to 10 feet of water. Worms and jigs were the baits used. The color of jig preferred was Chartreuse/pink. Bottom techniques were used. The water was clear with good current. We released a lot and kept some for the frying pan. After a nice day on the water we had a fantastic lunch at the Pica Taco in down town Mcqueeney. Catching some nice fish on the Guadalupe River. It just don't get any better.

Great day, you sound like you had fun. Fished the Guadalupe at Victoria, not a single gill, the drum was hitting the worms.

Thanks "Data Hawk" for the reply. I love catching those fresh water drum. I got into a mess of em a couple of years ago fishing the Frio River. Caught well over 50. They were super fighters and gave the ultra light a real workout.

I went out to Lake Crook (Paris water supply backup) yesterday. Caught nothing using garden worms. The fellow with minnows was doing the catching.

Side Note: Crappie are spawning out. Also been seeing some Rios on nest! Looks like some good Rio action is on the way. Have you seen any nesting Rios yet?
