I'm headed to Toledo Bend for Saturday and Sunday before I head back to work up north to the oil fields. Can anyone give me some advice or point me in the right direction. On previous trips there I could never really get on a pattern. Im assuming it's spawning/prespawn/postspawn going on right now? I just got my 93 astro boat worked in so I'm dying to get on the water for some serious fishing and will appreciate any help. I'll be putting in about a mile or so south of sportsman cafe at the public ramp. If any of you guys will be there too I'll be happy to meet ya.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and they were just starting to come in. The fish should really be turned on now, a buddy caught 12 in an hour the other day. I think you should start in a cove and throw a senko or wacky worm and you should catch some fish. If you want to throw moving baits I would suggest a spinnerbait, chatterbait, rogue or rattletrap.

Look for grass beds along the bank. Outside grass line in 5-8ft, inside grass line from 1-3ft. Throw your wacky worm or light texas rig on the inside, the holes in the grass, and the outside edge until you figure out where they are positioned and you should catch plenty. You can find the grass almost anywhere on the south end of the lake.

Some folks say that fishin on a Sunday is a sin, but if a fish bites my line, you know I'm gonna reel him on in!

Wacky senko and flukes. Fish shallow around the hay grass and trees/bushes

I had to leave after the first day but I was able to catch a bunch of fish off of the grass beds and the cat tails. Couldn't get any big ones tho but I had a lot of fun. After that I went looking for beds down south for a few hours and throwing traps in the back of the creeks and got a few small ones. I guess the big girls are not ready to move up yet down south in Indian creek. Had a good time.

On a side note there must have been a tournament going on or something because on 3 different occasions boats pulled up and cut me off where I was fishing toward and started castiing. Very aggressive movements in my opinion. I could of pinged the drivers with my crankbait that's how close they were. I'm not afraid of confrontation but decided on taking it easy on the fellas so I moved...I didn't want to ruin my day with bad feelings. Does this happen a lot on this lake or what?

Can't fix stupid, but in the last few years it seems people don't care if they cut you off. Have seen people invited to the bank and they usually leave.Never know who's packing these days. fish

One of the Oilmans tournament was going on... we avoid heading to T bend on the weekends those guys are out there like the plague. They attract some of the most arrogant no respect having anglers you'll come across. There are tons of good folks in the tournament, I just never have any dealings or see those folks on the water.

What kind of water temps were you seeing down south? Curious if the next full moon is going to move the south end fish to the bank or not.

It definitely cooled off. Rayburn was 58-63 in a lot of areas today
