Do you tie Snell Knots on off set hooks or just straight shank hooks

I on tie them on straight shank flipping hooks.

I usually use a snell knot on a bare hook rather it be straight EWG or my bent eye finesse hooks.

Right or wrong I don't know, but it works for me.

just go to youtube and type in snell hook. I only use them on flipping hooks also but dont see why they wouldnt work on any other hook.

I did that, but just wanted to ask because I have seen, and read, of 3 different ways to tie them. So not sure what is best or is actually "right". I figure the best way is the way that allows the hook to pull up when you set the hook. But don't know which one that is.

Use the one by Mikeybalzz. It was the 3rd video on the list when I punch in snell knot. This is the one I use but I dont wrap as many times as he does and it will give you the action your looking for. The 8th video down by wired2fish is also one to watch. Dont know if there is a wrong version but I think these two will give you what your looking for.

This version is easy to tie, the line is doubled through the eye of the hook, and the main line and tag ends are protected by the wraps of line around the shank. Knots with line doubling through the eye tend to be stronger than knots that don't.

This is the way I tie the snell ... never had a problem with mine. Occasionally the twist come out before I pull it tight though and it looks ugly, but when done right it works and works well.
