Going to Texoma for the first time this Friday and was wondering if anybody would be willing to point me in the right direction.

Possible even a boat ramp location might help.

Stay away from Lowes boat ramp they are having a bass tournament and it will be crowded. We fished yesterday and the wind killed us. Fish up around 377. And islands, we picked one up at islands. On umbrellas. Good luck.

Seniors from Texas need no license to fish in Oklahoma, so, does this mean you can fish Texoma with just a Texas license if you are a senior?

Technically, you can fish Texoma with only a Texas license as long as you stayed in Texas waters. The reality is that would be near impossible and certainly limit where you could go as the vast majority of the lake is in Oklahoma. As lite-liner said, get either a Texoma license or both Texas and Oklahoma license (which is what I do). West of 377 has produced well recently - work around the shad schools. Juniper West boat ramp is in good shape.

FisherJack, I believe that is correct and Texas seniors can get a discounted license. And if you meet the following birth date requirement, you may not even need the Texas license. I can only hope I am still fishing at the age of 84. smile

From TPWD:
Are Texas residents 65 years of age and older required to purchase a fishing license?
Yes, Texas residents 65 years of age and older are required to purchase a fishing license. However, Texas residents born BEFORE January 1, 1931 are exempt from the fishing license requirement. Below are the options available:

Fishing License Only:
Resident Senior Freshwater Fishing, $12
Resident Senior Saltwater Fishing, $17
Resident Senior All-Water Fishing, $22

I am under the impression that I can fish both Texas and Oklahoma sides with an Oklahoma Lifetime senior citizens license. If not I have been fishing illegally for some time.

That's a great question for Oklahoma senior anglers. I will post a question to TPWD on this.

Lewis, yes that is correct. Barbara Woodworth of the TPWD headquarters in Auston verified that Texas has a reciprocal agreement with the state of Oklahoma to allow senior residents of Oklahoma to fish Texas state waters of Texoma. Great question. I did some further research and page 24 of the TPWD handbook clarifies this as well. Great question.
