I went to lake Whitney yesterday with my son in law. Still new to fishing out of a boat so the nice lady and her husband at the marina gave me some good advice. I really appreciated their advice as it helped us catch sandies later on that evening. It was the first time on that lake. Again really greatful to the good people there at Juniper Cove. Those kind of people are the reason I chose to retire and live in Texas.
It's a great day because I'm not 6 feet under.

It always helps to ask the marina folks what everyone's been saying lately about where and with what bait. They usually hear a lot and won't hold out on you. They like to see a lot of new people come in and have a great time catching fish so they are willing to share what they know or hear from others. It helps their business to grow. Glad you had a good trip.

Senior Q, Good to hear you had success and met some good folks up there! I have had similar experiences. What is the water level at Whitney right now? I'm hoping to go next week to fish some of the creeks and I've been getting mixed reports. Hard to fish a creek with no water in it!

just under ten feet low. However I still had success around the marina with sandies on rattle traps both trolling and casting. Also they had really good luck in the next inlet over just west of the marina just trolling with rattle traps.
It's a great day because I'm not 6 feet under.
