Ok I had a weekend trip planned to Broken Bow, but the recent USACE floodgate release has me re-evaluating things at the moment. Just wanted to see what others on this forum think is the best idea. I'll be coming from Oklahoma City. Here are the options, if any experience fishing any of these places please chime in.

1. Go fish the lower mountain fork anyway
2. Go fish Beaver Lake Tailwater (never been there before, it's about the same distance from Oklahoma City as Broken Bow)
3. Go fish the Little Missouri River below Lake Greeson (it's about another 30 minutes farther than Broken Bow from Oklahoma City, again never been there before)
4. Go fish for sand bass somewhere. If anyone can recommend somewhere that the run is on within about a hour radius of Oklahoma City I'd definitely consider it.

Hope someone can give me some direction on this.

Thanks!

After fishing for sand bass for the first time last weekend I would pick #4, Go fish for sand bass somewhere. It's a blast and if you find the right spots they're packed like sardines. Not to mention they fight better than stocker trout and you have the chance to pull a nice hybrid out at the same time.

The Little Mo is great as well, but according to google maps you're looking at close to 5 hours on the road.

I've been wanting to get into some sand bass fishing, but finding the right spot and timing the run is another story altogether.

This time of year and with the flood hatch at bb. I would say sandies only time if it's right you check to see if you still have a hook after three cast without a fish. Problem is fish have been around for a long time but the ice has made it painfully slow on presentation. What weekend? How far are you willing to go? I bet somebody here can get you on them.

Well it's about a 4 hour trip for me to broken bow, so anywhere within that radius from Oklahoma City. If you know anywhere that would be a good bet right now I'd definitely be willing to give it a shot. And I'm a looking to go this weekend btw.
