Mine is collecting dust in the garage. Most places I have used it there was only a foot or less visibility.

I'm wondering about the handhelds? Some have InfraRed the way I understand it.

LOL. If I would just wait a little, I'll see my answers without even asking the questions.

I also wonder how well the newer underwater cameras work in Texas lakes. Actually I wonder how well one would work in Joe Pool Lake. I bought a used camera in 2012 to test it before I spent the money to buy a good color underwater camera. But unfortunately the crt was bad when I tried to use it so I still don't know how one would work in Joe Pool. So if anybody has used one in Joe Pool I would love to hear their results.

I would think from my experience, most cameras would be worthless in most Texas Lakes. I work part time for a marine salvage company that requires diving. I have tried to use still cameras of boat damage with poor success, Most of the time I can see my hand in front of my face, right at it but cant see my fingers. Even with good dive lights past 10 feet I cant see anything. I have to surface to check my air. One would work at Broken Bow, Squaw Creek that comes to mind

I would save my money on that item

I will add that I have had some success dropping the camera on brush piles and saw some crappie and bream. It seems that fish are curious and would come right up to the camera to investigate. Just don't expect to see anything over a foot or so away. Also keep in mind that the sun will make it difficult to see the screen. Have to constantly position the screen so its not in the sun and still be able to see the screen.

I have one and used it at Ray Roberts' COE brushpiles. Water at Ray Roberts is clear. I dropped the camera down onto the brushpiles I could see the breams, crappies, largemouth, sandie, and catfish swimming around. It's true if the water clarity is not good then you can't see much. Fortunately Ray Roberts has been very clear due to zebra mussels. Sometime I could see my jig/minnow and the crappie would just ignored it and the bream would take it. Again Ray Roberts would be the only lake I would used for now due to water clarity.

Brush piles and standing timber is my points of interest. Anyone have the Pyle U.W. camera?
