What's your best casting bait caster in this price range? Mine was an old Daiwa Tdx103. It's worn out and so old parts aren't available. I want to throw poppers with it.

I think the Shimano Curado is the best overall value in a reel.

I think the Shimano Curado is the best overall value in a reel. X2. The new(ish) Curado I is a great bang for your buck at $179.99 Shimano Curado I

You can buy 2 Shimano Caenan's for $200 and I like the 3 I have better than my Curado. Hard to go wrong with anything from Shimano though.

I would also throw in the Lews Tournament Pro. It is really a very nice reel at $199 retail. But you can pick them up of ebay for $140 new. Smooth as glass. I have some Antares and Core 50Mg7s and they are unbelievably smooth, but next up in my book would be the Lews TP1SH.

Here's the tatula plug! Not a 200 dollar reel but I can't imagine there being much difference and a lot less money. I've been very pleased with them after just switching out to them a couple months ago.

Curado 50 E or Curado I Lews BB1 Pro Tatula type R.
That gives you Shimano, Lews, and Daiwa. I have them all and they are smooth.
For throwing light weight baits I would choose the BB1 Pro or the Curado 50E.

Your options a limitless. I have liked just about all I have owned except the Quantum. I struggled controlling the spool with that brand. I cant explain why but just could never use them. I dont usually adjust my reels. I just throw them with free spools and control with my thumb. I had to adjust the Quantum and still had trouble. I agree with just about anything Shimano or Abu Garcia. People on this forum really like the Lews but I have never used one to say.
