What knot do you like for Texas rigged plastics when using floro? I broke off on a hookset last summer. Suspect it was my polomar knot.

In my experience, Fluoro does not have as much initial stretch as mono thus creating one of the issues with break-offs on the hookset. Fluoro will stretch just fine but not as much as mono on the initial hookset. I go down one power of rod with fluoro than what I would use with mono.
I use the San Diego Jam knot with 15 lb. or less and the Palomar with 17 lb. or larger. Just be careful when tightening down the knot with the Palomar. Don't over crank the tag end.

Probably a good knot that Jim shows as well. Not a lot of friction there when tightening the knot as is similar to the San Diego Jam Knot.

When pitching or flipping, I use a snell knot.

The uni slip is the best knot in my opinion, with all types of lines. It is extremely easy to tie once you you get the hang of it and I can tie it very quickly. The San Diego Jam is good to, but the Uni is almost 100% strength and very consistent.

I use a doubled uni for all line to hook applications (it's just a uni but doubling the line)

If I could tie a snell knot quickly, this is what I would use for flipping, but haven't had any problems with the doubled uni.

+2!

You're best off tying direct to the hook shank in this scenario.

1. to prevent damage to knot and streamlining t rig, or punch rig
2. to allow the hook to pivot, which in turn improves hook up ratio.
