Beginning my search for a comfortable, light weight 100% waterproof boot for the upcoming summer months. Any suggestions?

Timberland Gore-Tex boots. I have some and they are as comfortable as any high top shoes.

Salomon makes a great boot called the XA Pro GTX. Its super lightweight and uses goretex waterproofing which IMO is the best out there. Breathes really well and doesn't even feel like you're wearing a boot. They make it in a low trail runner type shoe as well and it is also fantastic. Also, the lacing system is thin and low profile so theres less for hooks and everything else to grab onto. http://www.salomon.com/us/product/xa-pro-mid-gtx.html

All of those mentioned above are great waterproof footwear. I wear a pair of Lowa GoreTex trail runners when I want to wear waterproof. No break-in period, extremely waterproof, very comfortable, and not all that expensive. In the winter, I wear a pair of rubber ExtraTufs.

I have a pair of Vasque hiking boots that are Gore-Tex and comfortable. I also have a pair of New Balance GTX Running Shoes Gore-Tex for cooler conditions.

I've got some neoprene socks....wear regular cotton socks under them...then tennis shoes (non-leather)...they work great...

Lots of good boots out there as mentioned. I have a pair of leather Red Wings that are very water proof. I do spray them down from time to keep them that way but very good dry boot.IMO
