Was fishing at river yesterday, water was about 50 and it just stopped raining so the rocks were quick slippery. I got a bite and was moving slowly up from the river to gain better leverage, but accidentally slipped and would fell to a water if I wouldn`t been smart enough to grab a hold of nearby bush. Rod took a dive, but I managed to recover it. Needless to say, bass was gone.

Have you had these kind of close-calls or actually gotten wet while fishing?

i took a dive on Fayette county once. My trolling motor pull cord had snapped and I had the big motor on idling in the middle of the lake while I was attempting to install a new one on the front of the boat. 20 mph N winds and 40 degrees. Took a big wave overboard and it sent me over the side but i managed to grab the edge of the boat and pull myself back in pretty quick. I ended up not being able to get the new cord installed because it was so rough out there and i was freezing after that. Had to take the whole trolling motor shaft off so i could drive back to the ramp and call it a day. Glad I had a life jacket on!

Fell thru the ice many years ago ice fishing in CO. It was below zero and the short walk from
the ice to the truck froze my clothes solid to the point where it was hard to walk.

Gave all my ice fishing stuff away and never went again.

I took an unintentional swim in Big Sam years ago in March. 50 degree water temp. I popped out of the water so fast like a seal that I didn't get soaked through all my layers. Was able to tough it out for the rest of the tourney day.

Been in the water 3 times on Ray Bob. I'm the only guy that can fall in out of the boat while sitting in the sit down chair. Leaned over to pick up a reel and slipped of the set and out I went.

Fell in one time when the trolling motor hit a stump and the boat came to a complete stop. Needles to say slipped right off and bent the shaft. Fun times.

Went out on Tawakoni when rope on trolling motor broke when i was lifting it to move to another spot. Luckily it was summertime and water was warm. A friend of my dads had his boat get away while putting in at Waco and water was about 60. He apparently tried to swim and get it and didn't make it because they found his keys, phone, wallet, and shoes on the dock and his truck still running. Sad deal and those that posted about going overboard in cold water are very lucky.

Went in for a rod on Falcon and fell in when I hit a stump on fork. Fork was close call, I was surrounded by trees, water was 53, didn't have on vest and I was alone.

So he swam for boat and drowned? Tragic for sure.

My best friend took a dive at Lake Leon last year in march when we bumped a stump in high wind. I got him back in the boat pretty quick but he sure was cold.

Not accidentally, but have hung the boat on bumps and sand bars and had to get out of boat. First to subtract 200+ lbs from it, and secondly to try and shove it off. Then take off swimming like hell to get back in. Sucks. But sometimes when fishing during the week by yourself, it is what it is. Lol. Years ago I ran a boat out of fuel at sneaky Petes in Lewisville. I lived and launched in Hickory creek. So me and a friend swam the boat back across to the boat ramp. We were broke teenagers. Swimming was free. Good times actually. Now I'm not saying the fall in will be fun. Especially at my age now.
