See those vertical shadows? when looking through the camera you can actually see the waves of light moving. I'd like to eliminate those, if I can. I'm just not sure how. I'm not a camera buff, just a point and click if you know what I mean.
I used paper towels for the inside and dryer sheets for the light diffusion. I bought some tissue paper, but wife packed it up with the Christmas stuff.

ok, I turned on a setting called HDR. Not sure what that is, but the verticle shadows seem to be gone now.

HDR
HDR (High Dynamic Range) helps you get great shots, even in high-contrast situations. The best parts of three quick shots, taken at different exposures (long, normal, and short), are blended together into a single photo

Yes as long as your close enough and have a clear shot and HD is on, you should get a good picture! I do love my camera though with the MACRO setting so you can really get very close and still get a clear pic!
These are fine though unless you want to enter them in some picture compition they don't need be better than what you have!

I'm workin on a box similar to that & I've been told that once you get the lighting right (top & side), holding the camera still is vital. Having said that, I agree with Skip, your pictures are perfectly fine. As good as I've seen on here, well, except for Skip's. LOL!

Also guys if you use a camera other than phone, get one with Macro setting and also get at least one tripod. I have 2, one os tall from floor type and one is very short like putting on a table to shoot close up like that!
