I posted a few weeks back I finally had some luck on swimbaits. Going to really concentrate on them this spring. Found some tricks and since the weather was bad and I was bored I "tweeked" my 3:16. Saw on a video to slit the gills and glue in red pipe cleaner to give the bait the impression it has gills.

Ive aways had good luck with 3:16 swimbaits and that improvement looks to be a good idea.

That looks good! Read an article back in the day about how red pipe cleaners were being added to trout wakebaits in Cali to get the big ones to bite. Something about the big fish being use to seeing the same Ol baits and just needing to see something more tantalizing.

Thanks. Definitely not my idea, but a good one. I guess we'll see soon enough.
