So I have a tournament coming up out there soon and I have been on the lake a whopping one time lol. Due to recent weather and work related events I'm not going to get much scouting time. I doubt many will let go of useful information since the tournaments coming up. But just fishing for some info. Anything would help As to any major hazards to watch out for while running around etc. not looking for spots just don't want any surprises. Lol hopefully I can get back out there some weather and work permitting.
Thanks everyone and tight lines this year.

Spinner baits and creature baits have been working around docks. It has been taking over 17lbs lately. Carolina Rig points with flukes and brush hogs. Been catching fish in the 2 to 12 ft range. Good luck.

That lake vexes me... I think your c-rig of flukes, brushhogs good bet..They are subject to spinner baits coming out of channels, secondary points, dragging a drop shot by retaining walls..These rains should flush creeks that will help...As far as where all cuts from dons port on down to the damn, Clear and Caney..Good luck, you will need it..lol

Tough going for black bass lately - been doing ok at cove entrances at SW end of lake - spinner bates with large colorado blades - darker when overcast and lighter when sunny - twin tail trailers have helped as well - i rigged some shad swim baits with large colorado spinner blade and did well too, also had luck with medium diving square bill crank baits - same color suggestions - latest lovely weather will make it tougher, probably sent them deeper again, but i actually did well last Sunday when it was just as cold after the sun came out... maybe same will happen this Sunday if that is the tournament you are talking about...
as far as warning places - i try to warn everyone about a bad sand bar at the SW end of the damn - best way to see it from a distance is if the pelicans are sitting on it - water up a bit but it can be a killer if you aren't careful.

Thanks a lot guys. Seems to be a good mix of patterns going on then. I fished it once couple weekends ago and caught a few but idled around a lot mainly. Def not my style of lake. Lol. Yea with the weather I figured things would change up with the water temp getting hammered.
I saw that big sand bar by the dam. And the one by the bridge. Not knowing the lake I'll find me a couple areas and hammer it out all day. Hopefully the weather acts right between now and then. Hopefully lol

Made it out for half a day. Managed three solid fish and lost one good one. Water temp down mid 40's.
Biggest went right at 5#. Way to cold to be running around so picked a spot and fished it throughly to see what I could come up with. Caught em the first 30 mins and lost one right before I left. Other than that a lot of chunking and winding. Lol
