I have a 17'6 Magnum and the trolling motor is ripping out. Who do you recommend to do the welding? I am currently running a MotorGuide but am hoping to go to a MinnKota Ipilot soon. Thanks

Have a local welder tig weld a plate and fill any holes on or under the place where it ripped out

I was kind of hoping there was someone in the DFW area who specialized in boats. I was hoping for someone who would understand the strains this area of the boat would come under.

A photo of your problem might help generate some suggestions. It may be possible to through bolt an aluminum plate to the deck with a backing plate and then bolt the new motor through the plate and the deck. .100" thick aluminum welded is still .100" aluminum.

I have been told that McGills in Lewisville does some specialty welding.

We got you covered on this one. Touch base with Tiltman. He can work wonders on those tin cans...
