I know there was a thread on this but I can't find it and I would like to know what y'all think. I would like to have a Lock and Stow or something equivalent but I'm not sure if adds more stress to the transom or not. I want to do away with the transom saver but I need your advice first. Thanks

I have a MotorMate on my 300XS and it has proven to be great. Really stabilizes the motor and keeps it from moving around. Great product and had good service.

looks to me like anything that stops a 5-600 lb motor from bouncing around has got to be good for the transom.

I can't see where this would put anymore stress on the transom. I'm sitting here brain storming on this and when I think about the stress on a transom from hole shot to getting on plain, that's a lot of stress right there. The transom saver isn't really supporting the motor but seems to be taking some road shock. My boat is ratcheted down so it's not bouncing around on the trailer. I think I'll look into the Motormate.

My fiberglass man (Classic Fiberglass) only recommends Transom savers, and I trust his advice.

Thanks texasbass 1, I've been all over the internet reading the pro's and con's, looks to be six of one and a 1/2 dozen of the other. I have a 115 on a Tracker and don't know how strong it is back there.

I agree. Why try and improve on something that has worked for a long time. Is a motor toter really that much of a hassle? Been using the original one that came with my boat going on 17 years. Never had a problem and don't plan on changing.
