I am taking a spring break fishing trip in a couple of weeks. I want to fish the very north end, as I have never been above Boykin. Which ramp is better/safer? Ewing or Etoile?

I know there are always tournaments on this lake, but a little heads up information to get me started up there would be appreciated.

Thanks

Both ramps are good.

You prolly should be more concerned as to where the closest boat mechanic is if you plan on running around up there.

banana

If you don't know what you are doing up there then you have no business up there. Que Deliverance Banjo's Playing! violin There are tooooooo many hazards to jeopardize a trip. If you just want to bass fish I would recommend that you fish the mid lake to south lake area. Right now there is plenty of good fishing down there. The River Fish are sooo temperamental with the cold fronts and cold muddy water that it is not worth the effort. BUT, If you go up there do lots of idling because Cell Reception is very poor and the "River Rats" prolly WON'T help you.

I won't be running anywhere. Just looking to fish some new water. I have 2 days and want to treat it like its own lake above 103. Not sure if it will be worth it just sounds like fun to try something new.

I got the idea while watching bass commando's.

Thanks for the information about the ramps!!!

I don't care about winning any tournament just want to be able to catch plenty of solid fish. Sounds like fun fishing.

Isn't it mainly flooded bushes and grass up there on shore?

Is there any resemblance of a boat lane up there? Or is it just hope for the best?

Boat Lane! What's a boat lane????? roflmao roflmao
The last time I told a guy to NOT go up north was when he did not listen either. They called me the next day to come get them because they SHEARED off the drive shaft and lost the prop! I told them to get on the trolling motor and let the current help them back down river. If they didn't make it by dark to try and call me again and I would get somebody to go pull them in or wait until I got off work.

The river and fish never changed. All of a sudden people started freaking out about 18-21lb bags because they couldn't catch them down south.

I won't be running from the Pavilion! That is why I asked about the two ramps.
