Let's hope they clean it up and make it safer, without pricing everyone out.

This ha been in the works for a while now, the only down side is that the public boat ramps could be gone. I have heard that most of the "park" will be gone and all the land will be developed.
I have not seen it yet, but was told last week the city closed the east ramp by placing permanent "looking" concrete barriers on the ramp. This is odd to me, since it's actually somewhat usable for the first time in many many months...

Cool deal. Be nice if they added a ramp or two instead of taking them away but at least something good will happen to the land. So many vehicle thefts and break-ins out of there. Now all they need is to get Dallas to leave some water in it.

New ramps with a dock would be nice.

I would be all for them adding a pay box at the ramps ($5-$10) to help with maintenance and security costs. Maybe add a small pavilion, and for sure some docks. It really wouldn't take much for them to make the ramp areas nice, You would think that charging a small launch fee could recover those initial improvement costs pretty quickly.

I hear that up to 500 houses and a couple strip centers. I doubt Rowlett sees alot of tax money for awhile with the tax breaks that will be given to developer for helping. I would guess there won't be a new ramp. City wouldn't make money with that, heck they sold the library they owned so they can build apartments in its place

The rest of the land will be developed, rumor is marina will be shut down as soon as Rowlett takes over. All the land except the 1 acre deeded to Dallas will be under the control of the developer. I doubt they plan on having a public ramp anymore.

What you talkin about Willis.Dalrock dead ends at 30.
If they shutdown the 2 ramps that are there then there will only be 3 public ramps left on the lake.
Looks like I'll be fishing Cedar Creek more often.

If they close the marina you guys will need a ramp and a place to keep your boats for quick access.
