Okay, I want one! Call me lazy, but paddling back upstream on the Brazos after a grueling day is a beating. grin

Neat, but kinda defeats the purpose of having a kayak for me. That's not to say it's not good for others

You could get a square stern canoe for a lot less than pro angler and it's the same thing...

There is at least a couple of gas powered PA's running around north Texas somewhere.

Two years ago I cnc cut some 1" thick HDPE motor mounts and adapters for them and thought they were mounting trolling motors. Then they came back and I was asked to add 1/4" aluminum plate to one side because the plastic was flexing on the really hot days. I just re-made them new ones out of phenolic ( that is the stuff motherboards are made of ) board 1" thick. They were supposed to send videos, but I never heard from them since. I guess they worked.

I have a torqeedo motor on one of my yaks and it is great when you want or need it. I cruise very slowly ( 1-2 mph ) when I use it.

If you are going much more than 4-5 mph and make contact with anything stationary in the water, the plastic hull will loose no matter what your source of power. Fishing in east Texas lakes with stumps I worry even when I am just peddling hard.

That being said if you really want a motor mount give me a shout. I'll try to talk you out of it and then take your money or sell you my Torqeedo or my square stern Grumman canoe..

I thought it was cool. Anything with a motor is cool. I feel like spider jig. Defeats the purpose. I looked the motor up, 700 bucks brand new. I just bought an elite 7 chirp for the same price. If I ever get a motor, it will be pushing a ranger.

Yea, I got my torqeedo sometime after a heart issue that stayed with me, thinking It would be a good way to get to land "just in case".

In reality, I really LIKE pedaling and think ( I hope ) I was waaay over-reacting to the phrase "congestive heart failure". Just being forced to remain cognizant of my issues has me in better physical shape now than I have been in years and That has my heart in even less stress.

Very Small motors on small boats is a real hoot, I own a couple of antique micro gas motors and they are a blast to play with but my fishing will remain the arena of my Hobie. And my Hobie is the only exercise plan I have actually been able to stay with more than a month.
