What application do you use with a burner reel. I've got 1 on a trap rod but I have another that I'm not using. Help me out

C-rig for sure. Maybe a crankbait rod.

For other than burning baits like traps, buzzbaits, sb's etc they are useful on any presentation where you move the bait with the rod working an area, then retrieve the bait quickly once you are out of the target area... so worming, jigging, pitching, flipping are common presentations that many use high speed reels for, along with some Topwater baits as well...

Some say it's easier to reel slower than faster, so just use hi speed on just about everything, but I prefer "slower" reels in general on baits with resistance, and higher speeds on single hook baits. But everyone's different so try it on a few presentations and see what you like best.

I use my Steez 7.9 for heavy braid jig applications. It's nice to be able to reel slack and set a hook REALLY quick. Also nice to not waste time with getting the jig back to the boat and casting it back to the strike zone. This reel is especially nice since it's magnesium and lots of bearings. Strong guts.
