I like the braided on a bait cast, but if vertical jigging, I would get one of the Wally Marshal solos. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/mr-crappie-solo-jiggin-reel-right-handed/pid-941303?N=92168786
I plan to get one and build me a fly reel seat rod for it.

I have a Quantum Accurist 10/1000 size reel, handles 10lb braid very well, I usually tie a 5-7 fluorocarbon leader, but I have loved fishing braid on the reel because you can feel everything.
