Great question. I don't hear that much about other fishermen using it. To complicated ? To expensive? Looks like Garmin or Raymarine is going to give Huminbird a run for the money on their units vs 360.

I've seen some impressive shots people have taken. Especially shallow water bed fishing or target fishing. All the offshore pics are pretty blurry but you can sometimes tell a school of bait. I can see where it would work really well for certain things but I'm offshore to much.

Just doesn't sound like the 360 version 'caught on'. IMO, too hard to interpret what exactly you are seeing. Great idea, love seeing all around the boat, but, you sure have to be able to understand what it is telling you! If not, it's worthless... JMO God Bless

I had a customer that bought it and hated it. The equipment was bulky and because of it's location he had to replace a $700 piece twice after the 3rd time he pulled it. If you are interested in buying one I could track him down, but you would need to replace that piece again. He now has 3 12 inch lowrances on his boat.

I have used both versions and own the bow model. I use it for fishing. It is like sight fishing. There is a topic specifically about it on the Bass Boat Central Humminbird forum.

I have had the 360 for about 5 weeks now and just recently installed it last week. I have used it three days in a row. Did not install it earlier due to the fact that I had tourneys back to back and did not want to be messing with 360 while prefishing. With that said:
I am still in the infant stage. I have done all my reading prior to ordering and receiving so that I have a good idea. When target fishing, this thing is the bomb. Yes I can sit and watch the target to insure that every cast will be effective.
Just this past Sunday I was fishing a ledge and saw a pod of fish and continued to follow them with the 360. It was pretty dang neat.
As I begin to fish more lakes with the 360 and start looking at those things that I know what is under the water.
NO MORE BUOY MARKERS FOR SURE.
Those that have it may be keeping a little ush ush about it to keep the advantage in their favor.

Sounds like, it will require a LOT of TOW to understand what you are seeing. I just purchased and about to have installed a 2nd HB 1199, interlink the two.... maybe at some point.

Haven't purchased one yet. Yes, have been watching a LOT of HB videos on the HB site and on You Tube. As I said, I don't care who you are, it's going to take a LOT OF TIME ON THE WATER to understand what you are seeing and use that data

Just put an 1199 and TM 360 on my Cat. I've fished with it for about 5 hours now. I think I actually caught a fish I saw swimming down some rip rap. When you are sitting pretty still, you can see white dots moving on the screen when the image refreshes. Those are definitely fish. When you see which way they are swimming down structure, lead them and throw it in their face. Pretty cool to do that with a jig, then feel a tick. When moving around on the TM, the image resolution gets harder to interpret. There will be times on calm days when the 360 guys are head down, throwing to key structure that the rest of the pack just won't see. Deeper beds, laydowns etc. Pretty cool to be able to see SI on the front unit (ethernet connected to the HDSI transducer) when moving at high speed on trolling motor between spots. Once you get to the next spot, back to 360 to see fish move around the target. I honestly could understand what I was seeing right away. It takes 5 minutes to toggle through the settings. I have found it to be very user friendly thus far. I can pump the 360 imaging through the ethernet hub to my 998 at the dash.
In case anyone is wondering, the 1199 and 898/998/1198 will share all capability "talk" through the ethernet system. In addition, the 1199 and 898/998 HDSI transducers are all the same. Upgrading to the 1199 form an 898 on my bow was plug and play. I sold the new transducer/power cables/and the original 898 puck with my 898 unit as a complete set (sold for $650 here in about 2 weeks). The 1199 has an internal gps. However, the TM 360 has its own puck. So you can pull old puck, sell with old unit, then new 360 puck will fit in the hole of the old puck, so nothing to repair. I mounted the 1199 with a Ballzout mount. So far I really like that new mount.
I gotta take a sec to brag on the guys at Classic Fiberglass in Denton. I originally bought an ethernet hub that was faulty. Chris McLain took 2 hours of his Saturday (off the clock) to help me trouble shoot everything and get the thing working correctly. He never asked me for extra coin, just wanted it to work right. I hope you and the fam enjoyed that gift card Chris. Thanks again!
