January 15,2015 Warm weekend in between the cold fronts. Not much rain, light winds, The Sabine River water flow has slowed way down. These conditions are really helping the clarity of Sabine Lake. Most of Sabine Lake water clarity is fair to good. Water temperature 57 degrees, also good this time of year. The Speckled Trout are scattered from Pleasure Island to East Pass. Fished a couple of slicks on the Louisianna Shoreline, but could not make anything happen. If nothing else changes, we should be in good shape for the Speckled Trout fishing to turn on consistantly. Right now it is hit and miss, depending on what day it is. Bigger soft plastics, imitation mullet, seemed to get more attention from the bigger Specks. We missed more fish than we caught, but that is kind of normal this time of year. The Trout are usually not as aggressive as they can be. They would tap the lure instead of just nailing it. The coldest weather hopefully is behind us. The more warmer days ahead will help the Trout establish a feeding pattern. www.luckylindycharters
