Here is a link to an article about it in the Austin American Statesman. http://shar.es/1Whfmg There is a landowner upriver who has alot of power and has, or is working on getting a permit to construct a dam for his pecan orchard that would turn the Bend State Park area into a mudhole. I know there are alot of folks on here that really like to go to Bend and camp and fish during the white bass run, even though its been pretty bad the last 3 years, so just wanted to do some good by getting the word out as much as possible. I know there are alot of people downriver that this will affect, multiple landowners as well as the State Park, and there are some people getting ready to fight it if it comes to a hearing. Lets spread the word and please comment if you know anything or have updates on this.

Probably someone who moved down here from out of state (west coast) and has deep pockets. That's why you now see all the hill transformed from hills and beautiful untouched scenery to roof tops with mansion type homes on each hill as far as the eye can see. People better fight it, but it's all about how much money they have and can buy anything they want. Don't see how they can do it if it means daming up a navigable river which belongs to the public and they do not own!
