After watching the video T54 posted on G-Loomis factory makes me want to only buy rods made in the US,
Are G-Loomis, StCroix, & Kistler the only rods made in Usa?

One thing to consider is where the blanks are made. Many companies that wrap their rods in the US, buy their blanks from China...

Not all St Croix are made in USA. The Mojo line is made in Mexico. There are a lot of rods made here but the components come from all over. Loomis is like Toyota. They made be made here but they are still owned by the Japanese. Made in USA I guess can depend on your definition of the term. I wonder if anything truly comes from here anymore.

I get wanting to buy MADE IN AMERICA, but...presently....its virtually impossible to buy anything that's TOTALLY made in America....having said that.....I WILL NOT purchase anything online that originates from an overseas address .....if its sold on American soil....by American citizens....if feel I'm helping secure their jobs.....JMO....

I have been tryin this as well. My wife's Lexus has more USA content and labor involved than my Jeep Wrangler! WTF? My jeep is Italian (Fiat) and the suspension is Chinese and the transmission is German and the motor is Mexican. It is assembled in USA. HAHA. Her LEXUS has more USA made components and is built in USA. Weird.

Falcons Lowrider series and higher is made in USA with USA blanks and Japanese components. The BuCoos and Christies are made In USA with Chinese blanks and Japanese components.

The Rage and Mojos are made in Mexico. Very well made though.

Watching the GLoomis tour videos is cool. Makes you want to buy from them. I did find it odd that they outsource the wrapping to local retirees. I guess that is time consuming. They said they send out 20-30 each to a local person to hand wrap the threading on each rod. Then they are finished and returned to the factory for finishing. Kind of cool. They found a way to keep costs to a profitable level (even if the rods do cost a LOT). Coolest part was watching them makenthe blanks and hand sand them.

Some Kistlers are made in Japan also. Only certain models claim to be " american made "

A while back we got into this discussion so I decided since I used to be a fan of American made All Star rods I'd email them and ask where they made them since they obviously weren't making them in the US of A anymore. They danced all around the question but never really give me an answer.
