Finally got a reservation for Squaw Creek this Sunday, March 1st. Supposed to be in the 60's with a 5-15 mph south wind. This will be my first time on Squaw. Any tips on what they're biting on? Should I go left toward the damn or right toward the creek? Obviously I don't know the best way but hopefully I can follow someone or maybe someone could tell me on here? Any and all help appreciated!

Head left toward dam hit main lake and secondary points. Throw anything watermelon red or green pumpkin, like brush hogs, Senko's this info is common knowledge so I'm not giving away any secrets. Good Luck!

Mid lake and south. I'd stay in the 4 to 12. foot range with plastics. Sounds like a broad Depth but it's easy with steep banks on squaw. I'd work the trees on secondary points just under the surface most people over look. I caught fish all day yesterday doing this. Biggest was just at 5 lbs but had a blast.

Since I'm done for the year most of my fish have also been south. There are fish north but more numbers south. Any cove south of the island is good. All I've thrown for three weeks has been a watermelon/red super speed craw.

It's not as easy as some are making it out to be. See my results lately.

Going to head out for my first time on my own too. Anything I should look out for in the way of hazards?

I usually start on the south end in what people refer to as the 3 fingers.Left from ramp and then around the power plant to the right. You will see the 3 fingers on the left, that the warmest part of the lake (sat it 76 degrees). I usually start at the back of the middle finger and fish the willows out with a plastic worm texas rigged. Saturday it was Berkley' blue fleck that caught all the fish early, wind was bad so fishing got tougher. Move to points after the early bite, and i'm gonna try what Chasing Hogs wrote about the next time i'm out there.Sounds like a solid pattern. If you catch Tilapia you have to kill it or eat it. Throw them up on the shore the hawks will enjoy the free meal. The lake is down about 2 feet,I saw some stumps that I hadn't seen before. You'll be fine if you stay south and in the middle of the lake and get off plane before entering the coves. Boats and fog are also hazards on the lake, its a fast lake. You'll see, there are some really fast boats. One other thing, when you leave your gonna climb one of the steepest hill that you've probably been on. Get a running start and do not get to close to another truck if one is in front of you. He might not make it if it's wet. I don't have 4 wheel drive, but i always make it. Good luck to you, it's a great lake.
