If you are running into or out of Little Caney you need to be really careful. I was running in there on Sat am and hit a stump in the area of the orange cone in the middle of the run.

I have been through there well over a 1000 times and I had just told my guys every time the lake gets lower this spot scares me a bit. No longer than I said it we hit one.

Did not do any damage but it did stop up my water pick up with wood. I idled back through on the way out and there are several I spotted using my SI that are very close to surfacing also. Please be careful.

I clipped one myself on Saturday Marc lucky that I didnt hit it solid so there was no major damage minus a nice scratch on the bottom.

This is a good post. I normally run from front to back, but I decided to idle through that boat run not too long ago and hit four stumps. There are a few in the lane where it passes by in front of the docks that are on the left, about two-thirds of the way into the creek. It's in the area where it kind of narrows and there is a tall tree on the right. I also bumped into one near the area you're talking about.

I'm a chicken, but I don't know the lake a 100th of what you guys do. I only run the main boat lanes, idle everywhere else. I'm in no hurry either usually

Also, who or what took the pole off the big stump that sits out in the run to LFM?! It was MIA on Sunday.

Sorry, not trying to hi-jack this post, it is very kind of you to do this Marc and hopefully can save someone a lower unit. But I am curious. Are the lanes out on the main lake completely cleared all the way to the bottom so they are worry free? I guess it gets sketchy when you turn off from those and head into coves such as little Caney, or Williams, etc.?

I got broke of making that run too far back there late last fall. I will just idle and allow myself more time coming and going.

Great heads up though!

Yes wish there was some way as the lake drops some of those stumps could be cut off at the surface and PVC pipes could be inserted, but also understand that it may be against the law for Larry chainsaw to go running around cutting off stumps. I do know there are boat lane chips an etc. out there
Hopefully someone will waypoint these and post them somewhere say a new topic pinned at the top marked lake fork hazards waypoints.
Just hope everyone is careful out there.
Thanks mark!

No they are not. Those lanes were created long after the lake was filled. The lanes that are currently marked are good when the lake is at full pool but not when it is as low as it is now.
