Have had a fishing trip to Fayette planned for quite a while this mon tue and wed Feb 23,24, and 25th. Hope we can catch them while battling the elements, its supposed to be pretty cold with light rain and gusty wind. Anybody else crazy enough to be fishing the next 3 days?

Many years ago I went fishing and when I looked at the air temp gauge in the boat it read 8 degrees.
Could hardly fish with the guides icing up. Came off the lake and said never again but when I look back on it years later, I've got fond memories of that day. Sometimes real adversity makes for some
great memories.

Man Kirbydog that's some dedication right there, How I look at it is any day on the water is better than a day at work right? thanks guys, hopefully I will be posting some pictures of some fin freaks of nature

Should be some good current, it always seems to be at good power plant lakes the colder it gets. Get some hand warmers for the week, put one in your shirt pocket near your heart... Keeps your blood slightly warmer (don't put 2 in there or you will explode).

With FCL putting out that hot water, you'll be a lot better off in really cold weather than if you were on a cold water lake.

Monday should be pretty miserable with 15 mph+ N wind in the forecast . You shouldn't have to fight the crowds. Tuesday and Wednesday should be better if you dress right. You can always catch fish in the discharge by swimming a shakey head or light Texas rig with the current where the riprap meets the bottom. Might be a good place to hide from the wind.

I was thinking the same thing, thanks fellers, the last time I was there the water temp was 105 at hot water discharge, I just might have to go swimming like a big o hot tub lol,
