I have two starting batteries a little over 2 years old. They also run my electronics. Sometimes after being out a while, I will get a low voltage message on my electronics. I usually charge the batteries after being out and they show 13.2v but after a day they show 12.3v and that is before they have ever been hooked up.

They are Exides. Wondering if it might be an age issue? Seems like I saw a post on here several months ago about batteries that gave a lot of information about their characteristics.

Do you have your electronics wired directly to the batteries? I have the same issue -low voltage warning -HOWEVER, thinking I could cure the problem, I put a brand new Optima group 29 AGM battery in - - NO DICE. Apparently by running the power wire through a switch, it adds enough resistance to the circuit -it throws the low voltage alarm, even when the battery, at the time it is showing low voltage, has 12.4 Volts. NOT a battery problem.

Yes, my electronics are wired through a breaker switch. My guess is that you are correct. I guess i will leave it as it is, and live with having to turn my electronics on again after starting the engine.

Switch shouldn't add any resistance unless it corroded inside. Is it a high amp rated switch? is it an old switch? most of the switches can be taken apart and cleaned of corrosion or just buy replacement. What gauge wire are you using? are the connections clean? are your battery terminals clean and tight? Have you used a volt meter to check for a draw on your battery?
These are all things that should be answered before going out and buying new batteries. If you can still start your motor but read low voltage on your electronics your battery is not the problem.
